A man was arrested on or about August 14 2019 in North California. Court awarded restitution to victim. Victim went to school in So Cal. During an apprenticeship with the San Bernardino County Superior Court, the judge mixed the identities of a convicted felon who was found guilty of drunk driving and sexually molesting its daughter. Instead of arresting the convicted felon, the judge arrested the student who allegedly misrepresented himself to be the attorney.
At the time of the arrest, the victim was handcuffed and processed. The defense attorney alleged the restitution should be awarded to the felon instead. The now then attorney pleaded not guilty and the case was referred to a divergence hearing. The unrepresented student was represented by a peer of his where he went to law school. The law school’s trustee, a Sigma Alpha Epsilon attorney, and alumni opened a credit card on the student’s behalf to allege tuition expenses would be charged, and while liquidating and bankrupting its parent’s estate while disallowing the victim to the most basic of needs such as a worker’s compensation claim, translation services, a computer to take courses.
Instead, the student was subjected to a parole program with the mother’s attorney who chose not to represent the mother in the case and represented the county instead. The case has garnered multiple media inquiries and the people want to take the case to trial and want to press charges on J. Cole Chavez, and the deputy attorney who covered it up.
